Getting started

What is liuliu?

liuliu is a travel planner. You build each trip as a clean, day-by-day timeline — flights, stays, and the things you'll do — and see the whole journey come to life on an interactive 3D globe.

Is it free?

Yes. liuliu is free to download and use. Some booking links inside the app are affiliate links — if you tap one and book on a partner's site, we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. That's optional and entirely your choice; the app works fully without ever tapping one.

Which devices does it work on?

liuliu is on iPhone first. Android is on the way — if that's you, hang tight.

Do I need an account?

Yes — so your trips sync to your device and are private to you. Signing in takes seconds: use Apple, Google, or just your email and a one-time code. There are no passwords to create or remember.

Planning a trip

How do I add a flight or a route?

Open a trip, tap add, and choose Travel. Set where you're leaving from and where you're going, the date and time, and your mode (plane, train, car, bus, ferry, bike, or walk). Your route draws itself on the globe.

Planning a round trip? Tick "Also add the return" and set the return date — liuliu creates both legs for you.

Can I set a budget and track what I spend?

Yes. Give a trip a budget, then add a cost to anything you plan. liuliu shows where the money goes across travel, stays, and activities — all in your own currency — so you always know if you're on track.

You can also turn on budget alerts: a heads-up the moment your spending nears your limit, plus an optional daily check while you're away.

Will it remind me what's planned each day?

If you want. Turn on trip reminders and you'll get a gentle rundown of the day ahead, delivered at whatever time suits you. It's off until you switch it on.

Offline

Does liuliu work offline?

Yes. On the plane, off the grid, or deep underground, start a whole new trip or open one you already have and add or change anything in it — flights, stays, costs, notes, times, the order of your days, and more.

The next time you're online with the app open, everything you did syncs itself automatically. There's no sync button and nothing to remember.

Will I lose anything if I edit offline?

No. Your offline changes are saved on your device right away and survive closing the app. They upload on their own the next time you open liuliu with a connection.

Can I create a brand-new trip offline?

Yes. Start a new trip and fill it with flights, stays and plans without any connection — it's all saved on your device and uploads on its own once you're back online. Two things wait for a connection: searching for a place, and picking a cover photo. So an offline trip gets its cover the next time you're online, and any flight or stay you add shows an "Add location" prompt until you search its place.

Why isn't one of my stops showing on the map?

A flight or stay only appears on the globe once it has a location, and searching for a place needs a connection. If you added it offline, you'll see an "Add location" prompt — open it once you're back online, search the place, and it'll drop onto your map.

Your world

What is the visited-countries globe?

Every country you've set foot in lights up on your own personal globe, with a breakdown by continent. You can turn it into a story or post for Instagram and WhatsApp, or save it straight to your camera roll.

Can I keep a trip after it's over?

Yes. Archive a trip when it's done to tuck it away, then reopen it any time to relive every day, just as you planned it.

Your data & privacy

Is my data private? Do you sell it?

Your trips are yours. We never sell or rent your data, and we don't build advertising profiles or show ads in the app. We collect only what the app needs to work.

Does liuliu track my location?

No. We don't track your device's location in the background. The only location data we hold is the places you deliberately add to a trip.

Can I delete my account and data?

Any time. You can delete individual trips, or permanently delete your whole account and all its data right in the app, under Settings → Delete account. That removes your trips from our servers and your identity from our sign-in provider.
